NDC national thanksgiving service held in grand style

Flanked by the elected National Executives in the party, the National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Mr. Samuel Ofosu – Ampofo thanked God for seeing the NDC through difficult times as the party held its Thanksgiving service at the SF Sarfo Memorial Temple Memorial branch, of the Church of Pentecost , in Nungua on Sunday, 02- December-2018.

The memorial Thanksgiving service which was under the auspices of the National Executives Committee of the NDC, saw the newly sworn in national executives hugely in attendance including hundreds of loyalists and sympathizers in the party who grace the ceremony in appreciation to God and the Church of Pentecost.

Amongst the dignitaries present were, the General Secretary Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah , National Women Organiser ; Dr. Hannah Louisa Bissiw , Madam Barbara Serwaa Asamoah and Mr. Boamah Otukonor, National Organiser Joshua Akamba, National Communication officer ,Sammy Gyamfi and his two deputies ; Mr. Kwaku Boahen , and Mr. Godwin Ako Gunn, Hon. Mavis Ama Frimpong, Constituency Chairman for Krowor ; Mr. Bortey ( Host Constituency ) and his Executives as well as all the elected national Executives and their deputies were at the event to worship and express gratitude to God Almighty for His protection and guidance, bestowed upon the NDC after embarking on a successful landmark National Delegates Congress in the party, which was held on the 17th November 2018 at the Trade Fair Site at La. Accra.

Others also includes ; Past and present members of Parliament, Ambassadors, Past Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives as well as notable stalwarts and the Greater Accra Regional Executives of the NDC, led by the regional Chairman, Mr. Kobina Ade Coker were all in the auditorium to intercede and show appreciation to God and the leadership of the Church of Pentecost International for opening its doors for the party each time the NDC calls on them for assistance.

In his address to the congregation, the area head of the assembly in Teshie – Nungua who doubles as the immediate past general secretary for the church of Pentecost worldwide, Apostle Dr. Alfred Koduah and the Host pastor ;Pastor Owusu Asare, express delight at the NDC for opting to give honor where its due, by recognising that God alone deserves all the adoration and worthiness in the face of daunting challenges which beset the party.

Apostle Dr. Alfred Koduah noted and observed that the NDC through its National Chairman Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo has given a true definition to the art of politics in the defining moment as they seek the face of the Lord for ushering them through a very challenging and hectic campaign and subsequent election to elect their front line National Executives of the party to maned their internal operations and steer their affairs ahead of the 2020 Polls respectively.

Similarly, he alluded to the fact that, it is imperative for political parties in the country to conduct themselves in an atmosphere of peace and unity and devoid of acts of vendetta, and rancor which have the panache to stoke confusion in the country and opined that, looking at the virtues of the current NDC executives and their pedigree, he is optimistic that, the Chairman, and General Secretary will lead the party and change the old narrative, and rekindle the spirit of togetherness in development and freedom as enshrined in the constitution of the republic.

Apostle Dr. Koduah reiterated his faith in Christ Jesus as being the only solid rock on which the church amidst the political class lean onto. He said, knowing the Current National Chairman and what he possesses by virtue of his stature in the Christendom community, he is assured that the NDC, and their opponents in the NPP will respect the sanctity within the Democratic space of the country, and avail themselves in the national discourse in the atmosphere of unity and tranquility.

The area head of the Pentecost church in Teshie – Nungua further bemoaned that, Ghana is a blessed land, built on the solid foundation of sound biblical religious doctrines, but the reason why such productive indicators and prosperousness are not being felt by the masses has to do with non rational leadership. He also observed that, the country is endowed with many tapped and untapped natural resources but it is saddened to remarked that, the nation has retrogressed over the years due to passive , and uninspiring front line leadership as well as the overemphasis on political elitism, which have stifle the progress of the country.

On his part the National Chairman for the NDC Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo who led the delegation within the corridors of the elected National Executives Committee avowed that, the good Lord of hosts has done something extraordinary and privilege to the party and himself, and the general secretary , Mr. Asiedu Nketiah are thankful and graceful for that act of singular of Nobleness for how far, God has brought them in this monumental milestone in the history of the party.

He revealed that, since unity remains the only panacea and driving force for the victory train of the NDC ahead of the 2020 general elections, and use the platform to invite all the failed Chairmanship aspirants who contested him in the last congress thus in the person of; Ambassador Dan Abodakpi , Madam Betty Mould Iddrisu ,Mr. Eddy Anann and Alhaji Hudu Yahyah to join him, and the rest of the elected team to work in the collective interest of the party as they are poised and prepare to give the NDC a new paradigm before during and after the 2020 Polls.

Subsequently, he explained the inability of the likes of Madam Betty Mould Iddrisu and Co who were not able to be at the gathering , but was quick to add that, Ambassador Dan Abodakpi was in the auditorium and invited him over to the podium for acknowledgment.

Mr. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo gave the votes of thanks getting to the dying embers of the service, and implore all NDC members across the length and breadth in the country, to join hands and work harder to send the NPP, and President Akufo Addo’s government into opposition since they have worsen the plight of ordinary Ghanaians barely some twenty – two months of being in power.

Some of the National Executives, Regional , and constituency executives who graced the Thanksgiving service and spoke on the sidelines to Nana Dogbe of Ahotor FM, reechoed the need for the NDC to remain resolute and fight for a common goal if indeed the party want to recapture power in 2020. However the 2020 parliamentary hopeful for the NDC in the Yilo Krobo constituency of the Eastern region, and the General Manager of Universal Multimedia Company Limited, Mr. Michael Ologo also added his voice and admonished the hierarchy and members of the party to burry all their differences, and express optimism that by so doing the victory of 2020 is guaranteed and non negotiable.

Largely the NDC National Thanksgiving Service was full of fun, Pub and Pageantry, amidst wild jubilation by fanatics of the party who engulfed the over 45,000 sitting capacity auditorium in the church, to witnessed and to catch a glimpse of the memorable event.
