Mourn with me – Ebony’s father sadly appeals to Ghanaians

Ebony’s father and biggest fan, Nana Poku Kwarteng as expected of a loved one, has expressed great disappoint at the loss of his daughter after reports of her sudden death filled the media space Friday morning.

Ebony was reportedly confirmed dead upon arrival at the Bechem Government Hospital after being involved in a ghastly accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road.

Ebony who was returning from Sunyani after visiting her mother and other family members was purportedly in the company of a military officer who is said to be her body and a young lady, in a Jeep with registration AS 497—16.

In an interview  a few hours after reports of her demise, the “sponsor” hit maker’s father recounted some fond memories of his beloved daughter, stressing on the fact that Ebony was a ‘true queen’.

“For now, mourn with me because the real queen, an asset, a real Ghanaian, stood for Ghana, a queen. I am not going to beat my chest with pride and say she was the queen where dancehall was concerned but we both know that Ebony was really a queen,” he said.

The father who spoke without dropping a tear, hid his pain and even managed to spare a smile while talking about his baby girl saying, “a good writer, so loving and caring. So amazing. What do I have to say? I am confused here but trust me Ohemaa was Ohemaa. The titled bestowed on her was her personality.”

Ebony was expected to tour Europe and was set to leave the country on Saturday 10th February to begin her tour.

He noted, “She was leaving on the 10th. I have her visa in my room as I speak. She was leaving on the 10th for Belgium, touring Europe for the first time. On the 10th she was leaving,” he said and with a heavy sigh full of sadness added,” That is the case”.

Nana Poku was optimistic his daughter had what it takes to win the biggest award at the upcoming Vodafone Music Awards.

“The hits, her latest songs could have made her the best. So, I was not doubting the fact that she was going to be the best. I believe strongly that she was going to win the supreme award. I knew she was going to win.
