KUMACA will be closed down – Deputy Education Minster

The Deputy Education Minister Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum has stated emphatically that the Kumasi Academy Senior High School (KUMACA) will be closed down by government by close of the week.

Section of parents who have their wards in the school on Tuesday stormed the school campus to pick their wards from the school following mysterious deaths which have occurred in the school this year.

Four students of KUMACA have died in one week increasing the number of students deaths to eleven this year (2017) as seven of them died in April.

Test results from the Noguchi Memorial Centre for Medical Research have ruled out meningitis as the cause of multiple death in the school.

Students have begun receiving Azithromycin antibiotics against possible bacterial infection after a stakeholders meeting was convened on Tuesday to find ways of ending the “mysterious deaths”.

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum speaking to the media after his tour in the school revealed that government will close down the school in the next three days.

He, however, appealed to parents who have taking their wards from the school to bring them back for medication.
