KMA SETS TASK-FORCE TO SEIZE AND IMPOUND STRAY ANIMALS IN THE METROPOLIS

The deputy environmental health officer for the Kumasi metropolis, Mr. Eric Gyasi has explained to the media that they are going to make sure to seize animals roaming about in the metropolis and release to the owners upon payments of a fee by the resolution of the Assembly.

Owners would be prosecuted thereof if the animals are left without been caged, he said.

According to him the assembly has observed with concern the numerous animals roaming about in the metropolis causing public health nuisance such as disease, accident, soiling among others, but several effort by the assembly to the owners to cage them has falling on deaf ears.

He therefore cautioned the owner to cage them with immediate effect or risk losing them with subsequent prosecution.
