I’ve spiritual fathers who fortify me – Gyan

Captain of the Black Stars, Asamaoh Gyan has disclosed that he has spiritual fathers who fortify him ahead of football games.

“You can’t just rise up and say you are going to play football…because it’s a spiritual exercise. You will need spiritual fortitude before you play and it’s not just for football but every other work.”

Speaking on the Delay Show, Gyan stressed, that mallams are just like pastors but in the Islamic religion and that there is nothing wrong with consulting them to pray for an individual.

He stated that he has a spiritual father who fortifies and prays for him before he sets off to play any game

The captain of the senior national team was recently criticized for wearing a customized armband in a match against the Ethiopian national team.

Gyan responded to critics saying there is nothing wrong with him wearing a customized armband and that he is not the first to wear a customized armband.
