Ing. Forson Is New ECG General Manager- Tema

The Tema branch of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has held a Press soiree to deliberate on cogent issues concerning the activities and operations of the Electricity Company of Ghana.

The encounter which was organized at the Imperial Restaurant/ Hotel in Tema saw representatives of various media outlets within the Tema Metropolis and its environs fully represented to grace the event.

The Public relations officer of Tema branch ECG Mrs Theresa Osabutey (out gone) gave a self explanatory presentations, by way of curtain razor about the general overview of programs, and projections into the future as well as successes chalked by the localized operations units of the company cum strategic changes in the corridors of management in the Tema enclave and its periphery.

She subsequently elucidated that the Company’s encounter with journalists in Tema, is an annual ritual which is geared to foster unity and cooperation for capacity building among Managements and participating pressmen and women.

Delivering his maiden address to the media present, the New General Manager of the Electricity Company of Ghana in Tema (takes over from Ing. Ofori Addo, who now heads the Customer Service Directorates at Head Office, Accra) Engineer (Ing) Joseph Mensah Forson expressed his profound glee and delight to assume such an administrative milestone as Head of the Company within the Tema Metropolis.

He avers to work with humility and diligence with an unfettered response to deal with any unforeseen situations which could be deemed as setback under his tutelage and supreme head of the company in Tema.

Mr  Mensah Forson through a satirical joke retorts that “he’s so glad to join the team in Tema and pledged to deepen the relationship between his outfit and the media similar to what he did in Volta Region”

Until his relocation to Tema, Mr. Mensah was a Branch manager in the Volta region. A position he has held for long with an enviable achievement with fiscal records and attestation.

It’s therefore not surprising that his dept and acumen in the operations and activities in the field of the power arena is unparalleled and without any questionable inclinations.

At the encounter, the New General Manager was sandwiched by his other subordinates and Engineers who heads diverse operations unit at ECG in Tema.

However, the Tema Regional Engineer, Ing – Emmanuel Appoe whiles answering a question posed to him by Alexander Nana Dogbe of Ahotor FM, about measures being adopted by his outfit to address complaints of fallen live- electrical mains and cables which in the midst of heavy thunderstorms and disastrous lightening in the wake of the impending rainy season has the tendency of wrecking havoc.

Ing- Appoe however in a subtle submission explained to the media that remedial measures and other safety and auxiliary precautionary means have been initiated by the company to curtail any unforeseen glitches and circumstances in regards to any natural disasters.

He also used the occasion to educate patrons and clients to be wary of quack and unsanctioned electricians, who may disguised themselves as representatives and licensed ECG staff and opined that there’s a standby team in place to deal ruthlessly with such recalcitrant persons.

He cautioned moreover that customers should always endeavor to report complaints of exposed underground live-cables and earth- wires, feeble  transmission poles, faulty transformers and its affiliates to the various complaints unit within any specified and accredited ECG offices if on the event of  experiencing any of these sudden situations.

He concluded by stating that the media should lead and champion the education on energy efficiency to individual households as well as commercial  users, in and around the various communities within the districts and metropolitan searchlight areas of Tema.

The Profiling and notice of changes and designations of the Management of the Tema branch section of the ECG includes the under listed Personalities; General Manager (Tema District Boss): Ing- Joseph Mensah Forson, Regional Engineer: Ing- Emmanuel Appoe, Revenue and Protection: Mrs. Zita Kyei Gyamfi.

Meanwhile, Ms. Freda Amoah takes over from the out gone Public Relations Officer of Tema, Mrs. Theresa Osabutey as Head of Communications in charge of Public Relations. Ms. Amoah assumes the position with vast experience in clients and customer services, and Communications respectively.

Similarly, Mrs Osabutey has since been transferred to the Head Office of ECG in Accra where she would be expected to assume a new challenge.
