Great Olympics fined GH¢1, 000 for failure to pay Joseph Halm’s transfer fee from Medeama

Great Olympics have been fined GH¢1, 000 for violating payment plan regarding the sale of goalkeeper Joseph Halm from Medeama three years ago.

The Wonder club has been ‘stiff-necked’ in complying with a ruling by the Players’ Status Committee ordering them to pay the Mauve and Yellows GHC18,000.00 as transfer fee for the glovesman as far back as  September 30, 2016.

Olympics have violated the 14-day ultimatum and will be sanctioned heavily by the disciplinary committee if they are found guilty.

The Disciplinary committee has given the Accra-based side an ultimatum of April 7 to pay the entitlement or face points deductions.

“PURSUANT to Article 63(1)(a) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, Accra Great Olympics is herby fined an amount of One Thousand Ghana Cedis(GH¢1,000.00), payable to the GFA upon receipt of this letter for failing to comply with the Player Status Committee decision within the stipulated time,” the ruling read

“PURSUANT to Article 63(1)(b) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, your club is hereby given a final deadline to pay the full amount of Eighteen Thousand Ghana Cedis(GH¢18,000) to Medeama SC on or before close of business, Friday, April 7, 2017 without failure.

“PURSUANT to Article 63(1)(c) of the GFA Disciplinary Code, should your Club fail to comply with the final deadline, the following sanctions shall apply.

“Suffer a three (3) points deduction from your accumulated points for each match played after the deadline.

“Suffer a transfer ban for a period of one (1) year, should your club fail to pay the amount in full, six (6) months after the deadline(Monday, October 9, 2017).

suffer demotion if your Club fail to pay the amount in full one(1) year after the deadline. (Monday, April 9, 2018).”

Medeama sold Joseph Halm to Olympics in 2014 but are yet to be paid a dime only for the shot-stopper to return to Tarkwa on a free transfer in January this year.
