Give us a competent coach not colored coach- Akavani

Ghana has been looking for a replacement of Coach Avram Grant after he failed in the just ended AFCON in Gabon when Ghana placed 4th.But with the pressure on the Israeli tactician he couldn’t not extend his contract which ended in February 2017.

And a committee had been formed by the Ghana football Association which is headed by Kwesi Nyantakyi to look for a Coach for Ghana national team.

This has been the current issues that media houses and individuals share their views, but what Mr. Andrews said will break your hearts .

He was asked by the host of Academic and Professional sports afternoon edition  GENERAL OPOKU ALOOKE on Tema based Ahotor 92.3FM,

On what he thinks about what the committee should look out before getting Ghanaians a coach, he said “Ghanaians pretend they do not  love the black Stars again and won’t watch their matches again but they follow secretly. And this comes to sum up that we only have one Black Stars”.

” it’s a good thing we support the black Stars”.

But after the exit of Grant as the head coach, are we looking for color or competence? As a nation we have to set aside some criteria for the coaches to meet no matter your color. This things all run up to money ,we don’t complain if we give huge money to foreign coaches but what happens when a fellow country man is in charge. Look at what happened to Kwesi Appiah when he took the black stars people selecting players for the coach and compare it with Avram Grant there was a huge difference. This all run up to color and competence.

Moreover the committee has not given Ghanaians any criteria of appointing the coaches but all we get to know is that, they have appoint a coach. You don’t know what contract they have with the coach. They don’t give us the details of contracts which is bad, so let’s decide as a nation if we want color or competence.
