Corporal Nicodemus dumped by NPP?

All appears not to be going well with Corporal Dianatah Nicodemus who in the run-up to the 2016 elections resigned his job as a policeman and entered into politics to campaign for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The young Police officer who was with the New Juaben Municipal Police Command in the Eastern region resigned in January 2016 to support then Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo ahead of the presidential elections.

Nicodemus claims ever since the party came to power his attempts to speak to senior members has been fruitless with no party official ready to pick his phone his calls.

A close associate of the resigned Cop who is worried about the development said “he is frustrated and heavily demoralized. In fact, he is living with regrets. He has become a constant visitor at the Flagstaff house and his little coins for trotro is almost finished. The ‘take this 200 cedis for lunch’ dole out won’t sustain him. Let the NPP be worth sacrificing for. Even those who never believed in Nana Addo’s victory are getting sorted out. How much more such a guy whose singular decision to quit the police service sent a strong message through the security services and brought a lot of guys on board to prosecute the change agenda? If it is us you won’t mind, please not this policeman. We are begging you in the name of God.

But Sammie Awuku who is the National Youth Organiser of the NPP in response told mynewsgh.com that he has personally interacted with Corporal Dianatah Nicodemus and assured him of some support

“If he said I don’t pick his calls then he is a very dishonest person. That is if he is the source of this information. A month ago I reached out to him and asked him how he was faring and also about his job search and all that. He then said he had gone to see a Security Capo (name withheld) at the Presidency. And I said ok.. Let’s see how it goes and he should revert. I didn’t hear from him in a while till 4 days ago when he sent me a message complaining about his situation and I called him back. He needed support and financial assistance and I said ok. On Friday I responded to these needs of his. As a follow up I called him yesterday morning and I told him he should find time so we meet up on Wednesday and I will lead him to some places in search of jobs and reassured him of our commitment to make sure he is also sorted out. For the records I am Youth Organiser and my immediate responsibility is towards my youth. Even though Nico doesn’t fall into my youth bracket and also didn’t work directly with me during the campaign I have always responded to his calls and messages no matter how late.

Even though am shocked at this allegation and hurt by these comments it won’t stop me from still meeting up with him on Wednesday to proceeding further to help our brother. NPP is a big family; we all worked for this victory. Some of our best campaigners are even the unsung heroes. With patience everybody will”, he revealed.
