COP Patrick Timbilla sacked from the police service

The Former Director General in charge of human resource at the Ghana police service has been dismissed from  the police service after two years following investigations into the 2015 police recruitment scam.

The police service said the Former senior police officer was involved in one of the biggest police recruitment scam.

Commissioner of police was implicated in the police recruitment scam in March 2015 he was interdicted following an internal service inquiry which traced the scam to him, immediately after his arrest in march the then director of public affairs DCOP David Nenyi Ampah Benni  told the media investigations could be over in a week after which prosecution would begin however a year passed and nothing was heard from the police administration.

According to the police it involves a lot of people, due process takes time hence still under service inquiry since it is an independent inquiry seven people have also been arrested in connection to the scam they include two police officers constable Ruth Ayiri 27 of the central police station in Koforidua who allegedly swindled a victim of ghc1,500 and corpral Gideon Sarpong.

There has been calls on the police service to provide the public with a detailed information
