Close NDC’s ideological school — Chairman Wuntumi

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Bernard Antwi-Boasiako has called on the government to bar the National Democratic Congress (NDC) from operating its ideological school, the Ghana Institute of Social Democracy (GISD).

According to the maverick politician, the NDC’s ideological school would be used to promote lawlessness, deviant attitudes and terrorism.

Mr Antwi-Boasiako, who is known popularly as Chairman Wontumi made the remarks in a radio interview with Accra-based Peace FM on Friday.

He has, therefore, called on the national security to move in to stop the party from operating the ideological school.

According to him, if the school “is not stopped”, he would equally start one to serve as a counter-ideological school to that of the NDC.

The NDC on Thursday, August 10, 2017 launched the party’s ideological school known as Ghana Institute of Social Democracy to promote the ideals and principles of the party.

The school will mainly focus on the values and principles of social democracy.

Programmes

According to the Acting Rector of the school, Dr William Ahadzie, the institute will run programmes such as the philosophy of the party, history of the party, history of Ghana, constitutional studies, party management, political communication, leadership skills, elections and electoral systems.

He said the school for a start will focus more on short courses, workshops and conferences for party members.
