Calm down NPP supporters, Chief Imam to Nana Addo

The Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Shaributu, has urged President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo to call his New Patriotic Party (NPP), supporters to order, following reported cases of violent conduct after the party’s election victory.

He contends that the recent cases of alleged intimidation and attacks on supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) could disturb the peaceful transition of power in the country.

Sheikh Shaibu, Spokesperson to the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, spoke on behalf of the Chief Imam when he paid a courtesy call on President-Elect Nana Akufo Addo at his residence in Nima earlier today (Monday).

He said that; Such things, if they are truly going on, then probably you, Nana Akufo-Addo’s voice could also help to ameliorate the problem so we can have a very peaceful transition in the interest of our country.
