BREAKING NEWS:Court throws out Appeal case of Nene Anorbaah Sasraku II

In July, a Koforidua high court had declared as a null and void of the installation of Nene Anorbaah Sasraku II [Romoe Tetteh Kofi] as Konor [paramount chief] Yilo-Krobo traditional area.

In it ruling, the court presided over by Mr. Justice Richard M Kwogyapah quashed over the Memorandum of understanding [MoU] that was arrived at under the Alternative Dispute Resolution {ADR] and upon which the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs made their ruling.

This was after Ologo and Akrobettoe gates of the Yilo Krobo paramountcy instituted an action for certiorari  at the court after the Nuer family had installed Romoe Tetteh Kofi as the paramount chief of the area.

Based on the ruling, the Nuer family filled an appeal of the ruling at the appeal court, Koforidua to revert the ruling and re-instate Nene Anorbaah Sasraku II as Konor.

After several months of legal battle between these brotherly royal clans, the Appeal court has today, 20th December, 2016 thrown out the appeal and dismissed the case.

This means the Ologo and Akrobetto Royal families therefore won the court case. The court has consequently fine the Eastern Region House of Chief/Nuer Royal an amount of Ghc 3,000.

The Ologo’s and Akrobetto Royal family are to bring their choice of candidate to the court on the 27th February for affirmation.
