Black Stars Failure: a failure of lack of juvenile side – Eric Kodi

The saying is true. ‘ Every team is as strong as its bench.’ A statement which aptly captures the sentiments of sports Legendary, Eric Kodi.

He has posited that the failure of the black stars is simply a failure of the managers of Ghana soccer to have taken juvenile (colts league)  football beyond rhetorics and lips service.

According to him, if Ghanaian players were trained from the grassroots,  as Juvenile players were done during his days in the Ghana black Starlets in the 80s, there would have been adequate replacement for our present aging National Black Stars Team.

Eric Kodi, made  this remarks on Academic and Professional Sports ,hosted by Ebenezer Frimpong Opoku-Alooke on Ahotor FM, 16th February 2017.

Borrowing from his own experience in the Ghana black starlets in the 80s, he submitted that due to their early introduction into the national team, their competitiveness made  the team never lacked financial support from advertisement and compassionate business owners. However,  Introducing grown up players  from the onset spoiled the training structure of the team. That really is the nemesis of our national team.
