AUDIO: NPP Government’s Recklessness ‘killed’ Mahama – NDC’s Aspiring YOUTH ORGANIZER

Today 9th June 2017’s edition of 360 politics with Akyena Brantuo on Ahotor 92.3fm was as hot as a boiling pot. As leading societal lights such as Mr Eric Yobo, political scientist, Elorm Yaa Akwambea, NDC parliament candidate for fanteakwa South, 2016, Mr Habbakku Amakye Otabil,  CEO of Projects Bureau and Mr. Wonder Madilo , Aspiring National Youth Organizer for the NDC, variously gave interpretations on what possibly killed the late major Adam Maxwell Mahama, who was given a state burial today, following his tragic death in the hands of a mob.

Without fear of contraction, Mr. Madilo laid the blame at the door steps of government. In his words the ‘ recklessness and  incompetent policies of Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Addo’s government are responsible for the untimely  death of Major Maxwell Mahama.

This he explained that prudent measures were not taken by the government, especially the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources to approach the problem of Galamsey.’ They could have taken a consultative approach in dealing with the canker than giving an ultimatum to the miners to abandon their business. He stated.

He added that the officer died because the District Chief Executive,Mr. Daniel Appianin who is the head of the District Security Council (Disec) for the district did not have any knowledge of a supposed  joint military patrol that were deployed to protect the mining site of the Canadian company, Alaska C & G Mining Company at Diaso. This led to the community misconstruing their actions to be in the interest of ‘galamseyers.’

Thirdly he added that the situation has even been compounded after the soldier’s death by the conspicuous absence of the president, who is the commander in Chief of the Ghana Arm forces.

It is noted that Major Maxwell Mahama  died on official duties as a Detachment Commander at Denkyira- Obuasi in the hand of a mob on May 29,2017.

He left behind a wife, Barbara and two children.
