AUDIO: Delay in Lottery Results at NLA is deliberate – Workers Alleged

Aggrieved workers at the National Lottery Authority have alleged that the new management of the authority are not following lay down procedures as expected.

According to a personnel at the Authority, Mr. Kyei (a.k.a Score) in a telephone interview on Ahotor FM’s Morning Show, with Emmanuel Quarshie (Hitman), he  stated that the Authority closes all machines for lottery at exactly 6:30pm each day. Results are then made public at 7:15pm. This has not been the case since the inception of the new management.

“On Monday we witnessed a sad incident. There was delay in the announcement of results as it is normally done.

We were told that the machines were tempered by some unscrupulous persons hence the delay”

“This happened on Tuesday and even yesterday as well”

“The results were announced at 9:00pm on Wednesday and I think it was a plot to change the numbers”, Kyei alleged

He further stated that personnel were not informed of the new development and subsequently explanations have not been forthcoming.

“Management go through the machines to detect numbers that are mostly staked and removed these numbers from the system”, Kyei stated.

He further stated that the authority earn as huge as GHC 20,000 each day in the greater Accra Region from the process.

He concluded by stating that, the government should take a critical look at the Authority to curb this development.
