Alleged thief lynched at Apowa

Residents of Apowa, a farming community near Agona Nkwanta in the Ahanta West District of the Western region woke up on Thursday, December 22 to a very harrowing news of an alleged thief who had been lynched

The victim, in his twenties, gave his name as Kwame from Alobankata near Dixcove before giving up the ghost

He was alleged to have broken into a Boutique in the community together with about four others

In the process of taking away their booty, a neighbour spotted them and raised an alarm.

All of them escaped but luck eluded the deceased and was arrested

An eye witness who gave his name as Benjamin Eshun tells Paa Kwesi Simpson of Skyy Power FM in Takoradi the victim was given a severe beatings before being tied very tightly to an electricity pole till he died

The body has since been conveyed to the Effia Nkwanta Nkwanta Regional Hospital Morgue by the Kwesimintsim Police for autopsy whilst investigation continues.
