Adonko Bitters banned

For failing to adhere to the regulations of the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), the registration and advertisement license of Angel Group of Companies, manufacture of Adonko bitters, has been withdrawn.

The Company has also been ordered to recall the product from the market and pay an administrative charge of GHC25,000.

This follows investigations by the FDA into an event organised by the company at the Baba Yara Sports stadium in Kumasi on Easter Monday (April 17) where some of the patrons got drunk and slept at the venue.

The acting Deputy Chief Executive of the Food Inspectorate Division told newsman the outcome will determine the next line of action.
